Moreton Bay Council have closed many libraries in our regions and replaced them with mobile vans.
While this is suitable for some areas there is nothing like being able to go into a library and physically pick up a book to read.
The closures of our libraries have severely impacted the elderly and disadvantaged people of our community.
Libraries can bring the community together, with social groups, parent groups, workshops and school holiday programs only being a small part of what a Library can bring to a community.
I will be fighting to bring a library back to the residents of Beachmere and ensuring all other libraries in the area are fully funded to provide the services our community deserves.
